Engineers and technical professionals from Pakistan’s National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) have completed advanced reliability training in China.

The nearly three-week program ran from August 3 to August 21. Beihang University and the Asian Simulation Federation (ASIASIM) jointly organized the training in Beijing and Hangzhou.

Training Focuses on Reliability Engineering

The program combined classroom learning with technical discussions and institutional visits. Participants studied several areas of reliability engineering.

Key topics included:

  • Reliability assessment
  • Nondestructive testing
  • Systems engineering
  • Maintenance
  • Autonomous systems
  • Equipment health management

In addition, the program explored emerging technologies. These included digital twins and large language models, with a focus on their practical use in reliability engineering.

Pakistani Engineers Visit Chinese Technology Firms

During the program, the Pakistani delegation visited several Chinese research and technology institutions.

The participants toured Hikvision’s headquarters in Hangzhou, Unitree Robotics, and Tianmushan Laboratory. These visits provided practical exposure to reliability design, testing, and quality management.

Moreover, the engineers examined applications in intelligent systems, robotics, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Beihang and NESCOM Seek Further Cooperation

At the closing ceremony, ASIASIM Secretary-General and Beihang University professor Weng Jingnong described the program as a starting point for further interaction between Beihang and NESCOM.

Umer Farooq, representing the NESCOM trainees, thanked the Chinese organizers for their support. He said the participants gained valuable practical experience through both classroom sessions and field visits.

Strengthening Pakistan-China Technical Cooperation

The training created another platform for technical and academic engagement between Pakistan and China.

Furthermore, it allowed Pakistani professionals to learn directly from Chinese universities, research institutions, and technology companies. Such exchanges can support knowledge sharing and strengthen cooperation in advanced engineering and emerging technologies.
