A China-aided health facility has been inaugurated in Ratwal village of Attock district, Punjab, expanding healthcare access for rural communities.
The dispensary opened on July 26 and marks another step in China-Pakistan cooperation focused on improving public welfare and local development.
Facility to Serve 80 Villages
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan and Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan attended the inauguration ceremony.
The newly established dispensary is expected to provide basic free medical services to residents of nearly 80 surrounding villages where healthcare facilities have remained limited.
Moreover, the project aims to improve medical access for people living in remote areas and support healthier rural communities.
Supporting Rural Healthcare Development
The Ratwal dispensary represents another example of China-Pakistan cooperation in livelihood improvement projects.
The facility is part of China’s “small and beautiful” livelihood initiative, which focuses on community-level projects that directly benefit local populations.
Furthermore, the project highlights efforts by both countries to strengthen cooperation in healthcare and social development.
Addressing Rural Healthcare Challenges
Ratwal village, located in Attock District at an altitude of 531 meters, has historically faced challenges due to limited healthcare resources.
The new dispensary will help reduce difficulties faced by residents who previously had to travel longer distances for basic medical services.
As a result, local communities will gain easier access to essential healthcare facilities closer to their homes.
Strengthening Pakistan-China Cooperation
The inauguration reflects the broader Pakistan-China partnership in sectors that directly impact people’s lives.
Through continued cooperation in healthcare, education, and community development, both countries are working to expand practical projects that improve living standards and support sustainable development.
