Islamabad: The COMSTECH and Huawei have signed a landmark agreement to establish a joint ICT Academy in Islamabad, aiming to strengthen digital skills across the Muslim world.
The initiative is designed to support students and professionals from the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Cooperation by offering advanced training in emerging technologies.
Training in Future Technologies
The newly launched COMSTECH-Huawei ICT Academy will provide certifications in high-demand fields such as 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. These areas are considered critical for building a competitive digital workforce.
The academy follows a blended learning approach, combining online instruction with practical, hands-on training. This ensures participants gain both theoretical knowledge and real-world technical skills.
Strategic Push for Digital Growth
Hafeez ur Rehman, Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, attended the ceremony as chief guest. He described the initiative as a strategic investment in the region’s digital future.
Meanwhile, Ethan Sun emphasized Huawei’s long-term commitment to empowering youth through digital education. He noted that the partnership reflects the company’s vision to prepare talent for the global economy.

Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary highlighted that the collaboration will help OIC member states achieve greater technological independence by leveraging Huawei’s expertise.

The signing ceremony was attended by ambassadors and senior diplomats from several countries, including Somalia, Malaysia, Morocco, Mauritius, Azerbaijan, Algeria, and Brunei Darussalam. Their presence reflects strong international support for the initiative.
