China is moving to implement a structured standards system for its low-altitude economy by 2027, according to newly released guidelines. The system will encompass the entire industrial ecosystem, including drones, autonomous aircraft, air traffic management, safety oversight, and operational applications.
By 2030, more than 300 standards are expected to be operational, forming an internationally compatible and technically advanced framework. The initiative seeks to optimize industrial processes, ensure safety, and provide long-term support for sustainable growth in the low-altitude sector.
The low-altitude economy in China has rapidly industrialized, spanning research, manufacturing, operations, and infrastructure. The guidelines, issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and other central authorities, highlight China’s commitment to technological innovation, global competitiveness, and a mature regulatory framework for emerging aviation industries.
