The National Tariff Commission (NTC) has extended the anti-dumping duty on One-Side Coated Bleached Paperboard imported from China until February 2027. The move comes after authorities found evidence that previous duties were being bypassed, prompting the continuation of protective measures for domestic producers.
The 29.02% duty specifically applies to Two-Side Coated Bleached Paperboard, where the coating on one side is 20 g/m² or more and less than 20 g/m² on the other, made with materials like starch, China clay, or calcium carbonate. Products from countries other than China are unaffected.
The decision seeks to prevent unfair competition and maintain stability in local production. By continuing the duty, Pakistan ensures that domestic manufacturers are shielded from dumping practices, while slightly altered Chinese products will also be subject to the same tariff, supporting the country’s industrial growth strategy.
