China Southern Airlines, one of Asia’s leading carriers, transported around 42,000 passengers between Lahore and Guangzhou during 2025 by operating 193 flights throughout the year. The route has shown consistent growth, reflecting increasing travel demand between Pakistan and China.
From January 1, 2026, the airline will begin daily return flights on the Guangzhou–Lahore route, upgrading from its current five weekly flights operated with a Boeing 787 aircraft. The expansion is expected to significantly improve passenger capacity and connectivity between the two cities.
The increase in flight frequency is likely to support business travel, educational exchanges, tourism, and trade activities. Aviation experts believe the development will further strengthen people-to-people ties and economic cooperation under the growing China-Pakistan aviation partnership.
