The Bank of Punjab (BOP) and InfraZamin Pakistan (IZP) signed a MoU to improve agricultural warehousing finance. The partnership introduces credit guarantee-backed financing to help farmers and warehouse operators modernize and expand storage facilities nationwide.
InfraZamin, supported by InfraCo Asia Investments and Karandaaz Pakistan, provides credit guarantees to reduce lending risks. This allows BOP to offer long-term local-currency financing for post-harvest storage projects, encouraging private-sector investment in agriculture.
Officials highlighted that the collaboration will lower post-harvest losses, enhance commodity preservation, and boost sustainable investment. The MoU sets the stage for deeper cooperation, including a future Master Guarantee Agreement to expand the program.
