Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will visit the United Kingdom from August 17 to 19 for high-level engagements aimed at strengthening Pakistan-UK ties.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar will meet UK Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, Parliamentary Under-Secretary Hamish Falconer, and Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey during his stay in London. He will also inaugurate a Punjab Land Record Authority project at Pakistan’s High Commission, designed to help overseas Pakistanis resolve land documentation matters remotely.
The visit comes as part of the ongoing Enhanced Strategic Dialogue, initiated in 2011, which has broadened cooperation in trade, economic growth, education, cultural exchange, and security. Dar will further interact with British parliamentarians, Kashmiri leaders, and members of the British-Pakistani community.
Earlier this month, both countries pledged to expand defence and strategic cooperation, following talks in Rawalpindi. The UK also introduced e-visas for Pakistani students and workers, while July saw the signing of the Trade Dialogue Mechanism Agreement and the launch of the UK-Pakistan Business Advisory Council to enhance bilateral economic collaboration.
