Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a meeting with Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu in Tianjin, north China, on Tuesday.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, stated that under the leadership of their respective heads of state, China-Kazakhstan relations have reached an unprecedented high point.
He emphasized that Kazakhstan holds a key position in China’s neighborhood diplomacy and expressed China’s readiness to strengthen mutual support, deepen political trust, and explore new areas of cooperation with Kazakhstan.
Wang also noted Kazakhstan’s role as a founding member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and expressed hope for close collaboration with Kazakhstan and other member states to ensure the success of the upcoming Tianjin summit.
In response, Nurtleu voiced Kazakhstan’s full support for China’s proposed initiatives and affirmed the country’s commitment to contributing positively to the SCO summit.
He added that Kazakhstan is eager to implement the consensus reached by their leaders, advance preparations for high-level visits, and expand cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, energy, transportation, industrial development, and cultural exchanges to further strengthen bilateral ties
