Pakistan-Iran border crossings fully operational: MoFA
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) dismissed recent media claims on Wednesday, confirming that all border crossings between Pakistan and Iran remain fully open and operational.

In an official statement, the MoFA spokesperson clarified that reports suggesting the closure of border checkpoints in five districts due to the Iran-Israel conflict are baseless.

The statement emphasized that contrary to such claims, there has been no suspension of activity at any crossing point along the Pakistan-Iran border.

This clarification comes in response to growing speculation in mainstream and social media about potential security disruptions along the border.

Earlier reports from Balochistan on Monday had claimed that crossings in Chaghi, Washuk, Kerch, Panjgur, and Gwadar had been indefinitely closed, causing confusion.

However, officials confirmed that all border functions, trade, travel, and security operations, continue uninterrupted, including at the crucial Taftan crossing in Balochistan.

They added that Pakistan shares a 900-kilometer border with Iran, which serves as a key land trade corridor for both countries.

Authorities from both sides have taken steps in recent years to strengthen border management and ensure secure and efficient movement of people and goods.

The Ministry urged media outlets to avoid spreading unverified information and exercise responsibility when reporting on sensitive issues.
