Pakistan, China universities partner on energy cooperation as UOL and NCEPU signed several agreements in Beijing.
The University of Lahore (UOL) and North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) signed several academic collaboration agreements in Beijing on Wednesday, aiming to deepen educational and technological cooperation between China and Pakistan.
These agreements include faculty and student exchange programs and joint research projects focused on renewable energy technologies, with the goal of encouraging innovation and supporting a sustainable energy future.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Awais Raoof, Chairman of UOL’s Board of Governors, and was welcomed by NCEPU Vice President Liu Wei.
Liu underscored the long-standing relationship between China and Pakistan and highlighted the vast opportunities for expanding cooperation in both higher education and clean energy.
Awais Raoof emphasized that these partnerships would contribute to academic advancement and innovation in key sectors, particularly benefiting Pakistan’s growing energy sector.
Khalid Taimur Akram, another member of the Pakistani delegation, framed the collaboration as part of the broader China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative and commended NCEPU for its leadership in global energy research.
After the agreement signing, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of Alternate Electrical Power System with Renewable Energy Sources, where they were introduced to cutting-edge research and green energy initiatives.
This cooperation signifies a meaningful step in strengthening China-Pakistan ties in education and technology, with both universities committed to advancing mutual goals in energy innovation and academic development.
