At the invitation of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will undertake an official visit to Russia from March 31 to April 2, as announced by a spokesperson for China’s foreign ministry on Friday.
During a regular press briefing on the same day, foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun highlighted that China and Russia maintain a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era. He emphasized that under the strategic leadership of both nations’ heads of state, China and Russia remain committed to long-term friendly relations, extensive strategic coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The spokesperson noted that the two countries continue to strengthen their strategic alignment and broaden cooperation across multiple sectors. This collaboration has played a key role in fostering each other’s development and revitalization while upholding fundamental international norms.
Guo further stated that during his visit, Wang Yi will engage in discussions with Russian leaders and hold official talks with Lavrov.
“The Chinese side is prepared to use this visit as an opportunity to work with Russia in implementing key agreements reached by the two heads of state. Both sides will conduct in-depth discussions on the progress of China-Russia relations and exchange views on major international and regional matters of shared concern,” the spokesperson added.
