President Asif Ali Zardari pledged Pakistan’s unwavering support to the Palestinian people, promising political, diplomatic, humanitarian, and moral assistance. Speaking on the International Day of Solidarity, he emphasized Pakistan’s call for an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
He highlighted the bravery and resilience of Palestinians and recalled Pakistan’s long-standing historical solidarity, dating back to the Lahore Resolution of 1940. Zardari stressed that the bond between Pakistan and Palestine is grounded in mutual respect and shared values.
The president condemned Israeli actions in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, and accountability for war crimes. Pakistan continues to advocate for Palestinian rights at the UN, OIC, ICJ, and NAM.
Zardari concluded by praising Palestinian perseverance, expressing hope that their struggle inspires the world, and sharing his personal wish to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque alongside Palestinian brethren.
