Under the CPEC initiative, China and Pakistan will establish modern agricultural machinery plants in Punjab, designed to improve farming efficiency and provide equipment suited to local needs. This collaboration strengthens bilateral ties and supports growth in Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
During a meeting with Punjab’s agriculture officials, the Chinese delegation reviewed five MoUs covering crop monitoring, cotton and seed R&D, centers of excellence, and high-tech farm mechanization programs. Initial steps for implementation are already underway.
Punjab’s Agriculture Secretary emphasized China’s global leadership in agri-tech and assured full provincial support for the project. Chinese experts will assist in training local agricultural scientists, ensuring effective adoption of modern farming technologies.
The initiative is expected to transform Punjab into a hub for advanced agriculture, improve productivity, and expand export opportunities, reflecting CPEC’s growing impact on Pakistan’s economic and technological progress.
