The Sost Dry Port, managed by the National Logistics Corporation (NLC), has completed two successful years of all-weather cargo operations via the Khunjerab Pass, bolstering Pakistan-China trade. The port remained fully operational throughout extreme winter conditions, including heavy snowfall, demonstrating resilience and efficiency in maintaining cross-border trade.
NLC has significantly upgraded infrastructure at Sost, including advanced scanning systems, weighbridges, and expanded warehouse capacity, ensuring faster clearance and improved cargo safety. In December 2025 alone, the port handled 12,000 metric tons of imports and exports, while the first half of January 2026 saw over 4,860 metric tons cleared, alongside 132 empty containers.
In a strategic move to strengthen regional connectivity, NLC has partnered with Chinese transportation enterprises to form a joint logistics company. This collaboration is enhancing trade integration with China and Central Asian countries, supporting smooth transit and positioning Sost Dry Port as a key hub for Pakistan-China trade under all-weather conditions.
