 Sindh Government launches Chinese buses on two new routes

KARACHI, Aug. 3 – To cater to growing transport needs, the Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) in collaboration with the Government of Sindh on Tuesday launched a new route for the People Bus Service.

The SMTA has added a new route to Peoples Bus Service namely PBS Route 12. The new route is 35 kilometers long and will cover an area from Khokra Par to Nasir Jump via Quaidabad, Korangi Industrial Area. Higer company’s buses are running on the new route. “Earlier this week, new buses arrived at the seaport, which will run on the new route,” said Sindh Minister for Information and Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon while inaugurating the new route.

Mr. Memon said that SMTA has also launched EV Route 3, with a total length of 18km, which covers Malir Cantt Check Post No. 6 to Numaish via Safora, Gulistan Johar, Dalmia, and Stadium Road. He said the e-buses are not only environmentally friendly but also “the most beautiful buses”.

Earlier this year, the Sindh Government launched Pakistan’s first electric bus service in Karachi. In April, two routes of EV buses from Model Town to Seaview and between Bahria Town and Malir Halt were launched in the city.
