Shandong University in China has inaugurated a Pakistan-focused research centre to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two countries. The initiative reflects the growing scope of Pakistan-China engagement beyond trade, investment, and strategic ties, emphasizing education and people-to-people connectivity. The centre aims to serve as a platform for promoting mutual understanding and long-term bilateral cooperation.
The Pakistan Study Centre will facilitate collaborative research projects, student exchanges, and policy dialogue, with a particular focus on agriculture and fisheries, sectors that are important for both nations. The initiative will also help Pakistani students gain international exposure while supporting China’s educational institutions in broadening their research and global engagement.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi, representing Pakistan, thanked Shandong University for its support and highlighted the centre’s role in fostering sustainable academic partnerships. With full backing from university leadership and faculty members, the centre is expected to act as a hub for innovation, knowledge sharing, and educational cooperation, further strengthening institutional ties between Pakistan and China.
