The Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA) signed a tripartite agreement on Wednesday with TANG International Education Group and the China Global Professional and Technical Certification Center (CGPTC). The deal aims to strengthen technical and vocational education across the province.
Bringing Chinese Standards to Punjab’s TVET Sector
Under this agreement, Punjab will introduce internationally recognized Chinese standards into its Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. As a result, the partnership will enhance skills-development quality while expanding opportunities for students and training institutions alike.
New Programs Target Language and Traditional Medicine
The partnership specifically introduces specialized programs in two areas:
- Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
- Chinese language training
These programs will build professional skills, deepen cultural understanding, and strengthen communication capabilities. Ultimately, they aim to prepare graduates for emerging job opportunities both domestically and internationally.
Regulator Eyes Global Competitiveness
PSDA described the collaboration as central to its mission of modernizing Punjab’s skills ecosystem through international cooperation. Moreover, as the province’s apex regulatory body for the skills sector, the authority emphasized that effective regulation goes beyond compliance. Instead, it actively fosters quality, innovation, and globally competitive training standards.
Looking ahead, the initiative is expected to strengthen institutional capacity and improve workforce readiness. Furthermore, it supports Pakistan’s broader push to align vocational education with international benchmarks while deepening educational ties between Pakistan and China.
