PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Strong Pakistan-China Partnership
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met a high-level Chinese business delegation in Islamabad and reaffirmed the strong and historic partnership between Pakistan and China.
The delegation consisted of 11 members and was led by Qian Xiaojun, founder and president of IBI Beijing United Technology. The meeting focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and digital transformation.
Focus on Digital Economy and Investment Growth
During the discussion, the prime minister highlighted that Pakistan values its all-weather strategic partnership with China. He also appreciated China’s rapid economic development under the leadership of Xi Jinping.
In addition, he welcomed increased business-to-business cooperation between both countries. He emphasized that the digital economy, industrial collaboration, and investment facilitation will play a key role in Pakistan’s future growth.

IBI Plans Digital Expansion in Pakistan
Qian Xiaojun expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential. He stated that IBI aims to support Pakistan’s digital transformation through long-term investment and technological support.
Furthermore, he announced plans to establish a Digital Economy headquarters in Pakistan. This initiative is expected to help small and medium-sized enterprises connect with broader Chinese markets and improve digital capabilities.
Strengthening Long-Term Economic Cooperation
The delegation’s visit followed the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference held in Beijing during the prime minister’s earlier visit to China in 2025.
Overall, both sides agreed that expanding cooperation in technology, trade, and investment will further strengthen economic relations and open new opportunities for growth.
