Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised US President Donald Trump for supporting the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
The agreement brings Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye closer on regional defence cooperation. Shehbaz said the three countries will continue working to strengthen their own security and regional stability.
Shehbaz Praises Trump’s Leadership
In a post on X, the prime minister again praised President Trump’s leadership. He credited Trump with helping avert a nuclear catastrophe in South Asia and saving millions of lives.
Moreover, Shehbaz described Trump’s approach as courageous and decisive. He said Pakistan values efforts that contribute to peace and stability.
Focus on Regional Security
Shehbaz said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye will continue to play a constructive role in regional defence. Their cooperation aims to support the security of their countries and the wider region.
In addition, he stressed that lasting peace remains essential for sustainable development and prosperity.
Call for Durable Peace
The prime minister emphasized that durable peace is a key requirement for a brighter future. He said regional stability can create better conditions for economic growth and prosperity.
The remarks followed the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, highlighting Pakistan’s continued focus on strategic partnerships and regional security.
