Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday. He conveyed Independence Day greetings to Pakistan’s leadership and people.
The meeting also reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China. Both sides discussed regional developments and other matters of mutual interest.
Pakistan Offers Support After Mountaineer’s Death
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar expressed condolences over the death of a Chinese mountaineer in an avalanche at Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Dar assured Ambassador Jiang that Pakistan would provide full assistance in repatriating the mountaineer’s remains. Jiang appreciated the support extended by Pakistani authorities.
China Reaffirms Longstanding Partnership
The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to its “time-tested” relationship with Pakistan. He also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two countries.
Moreover, both sides agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and international matters.
CPEC Remains Key to Bilateral Cooperation
Pakistan and China maintain close political and economic relations. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor remains a major pillar of their bilateral cooperation.
Furthermore, continued coordination under CPEC is expected to support economic development and strengthen connectivity between the two countries.
