PM praises Saudi Arab’s role for peace in Middle East as he met with its Ambassador. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its dedicated efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and for playing a key role in facilitating the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malkiy, who called on him in Islamabad on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended his respectful greetings to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Shehbaz Sharif also warmly recalled his recent telephone conversation with the Crown Prince on the 24th of the previous month, describing it as cordial and constructive.
He informed the ambassador that Pakistan has assumed the rotating Presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of July and expressed hope for Saudi Arabia’s support in ensuring a smooth and productive tenure.
In response, the Saudi Ambassador expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s continued role in fostering peace and stability in the region.
