Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to use all available resources for flood relief. He called for every possible measure to support affected communities.
The Prime Minister issued the directive during a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik in Islamabad.
NDMA Told to Strengthen Coordination
Shehbaz Sharif directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to maintain close coordination with provincial departments. He also stressed cooperation with Provincial Disaster Management Authorities.
This coordination will help improve relief delivery in flood-affected areas.
AI Technology Supports Emergency Response
The Prime Minister appreciated the use of artificial intelligence and modern technology at the National Emergencies Operation Centre.
Moreover, he emphasized the importance of technology in improving emergency monitoring and response efforts.
Relief Operations Continue in Affected Regions
The NDMA chairman briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing relief activities. He also shared details about measures to rehabilitate flood victims.
According to the briefing, NDMA operations will continue in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The operations will continue with support from the federal government. As a result, authorities aim to provide sustained assistance to communities affected by the floods.
