China will continue imposing anti-dumping duties on single-mode optical fiber imports from India for another five years, starting August 14, 2026.
The Ministry of Commerce announced the decision after reviewing the existing measures. Chinese authorities began the review in August 2025 following a request from the domestic industry.
China Cites Risk to Domestic Industry
According to the ministry, ending the duties could allow dumping from India to continue or return. This could cause further harm to Chinese optical fiber producers.
As a result, China decided to maintain the measures for another five years.
Duties Range From 7.4% to 30.6%
Under the extended measures, imported single-mode optical fiber from India will face anti-dumping duties ranging from 7.4% to 30.6%.
China first imposed these duties in 2014. The government later extended them for another five years in 2020.
Optical Fiber Supports High-Speed Networks
Single-mode optical fiber plays a major role in modern telecommunications. It supports high-speed and long-distance data transmission.
Moreover, the technology is widely used in long-haul trunk networks, metropolitan networks, cable television, and fiber-optic access systems.
