Pakistan’s Dental Exports to China Rise 4% in 2025

Pakistan’s exports of dental instruments and appliances to China recorded a 4% year-on-year increase in the first half of 2025, reaching $2 million, according to the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC). The figure is up from $1.93 million during the same period last year, underscoring Pakistan’s growing role in China’s medical device market.

From January to June 2025, Pakistan shipped 205,840 kilograms of dental products to China at an average export price of $0.47 per kilogram, one of the most competitive rates globally. This growth reflects the country’s cost advantage, supported by strategic trade agreements, competitive pricing, and a well-established manufacturing base.

The dental trade momentum is part of a wider medical export trend. Over the same six-month period, Pakistan also supplied China with $5.56 million worth of medical and surgical instruments, $3.24 million in veterinary tools, and $155,465 in ophthalmic equipment.

Trade and Investment Counsellor at Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing, Ghulam Qadir, credited the gains to strategic partnerships forged between Pakistani and Chinese firms earlier this year. These collaborations, initiated during B2B medical conferences in Beijing in January 2025, were backed by tariff reductions of 3% to 5% under the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement and initiatives to strengthen supply chain integration.

Industry experts point to Sialkot’s manufacturing cluster, the world’s fifth-largest medical equipment hub, as a key driver of growth. The region’s manufacturers consistently deliver EU-standard-compliant consumables in high volumes at competitive prices. Ambassador Khalil Hashmi also highlighted Pakistan’s geographic advantage and access to raw materials as factors that will sustain export expansion.

Looking ahead, the upcoming HEALTH ASIA 2025 exhibition in Karachi, scheduled for October 23–25, is expected to connect Pakistani manufacturers with over 500 Asian buyers, offering opportunities for joint ventures in high-value medical niches.
