Pakistani culture received a warm response at the 3rd Asian-African Cultural Festival held at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou. The event turned the campus into a vibrant celebration of Asian and African traditions.
The festival brought together students and faculty from nine language departments, including Urdu, Arabic, and Turkish. As a result, visitors experienced a wide range of cultural performances and activities.
Pakistan Booth Draws Major Attention
The Pakistan booth, organized by the university’s Urdu Department, became one of the most popular attractions. It featured traditional dishes such as biryani and lassi, along with handicrafts and cultural attire.
Moreover, visitors showed strong interest in Pakistani traditions and cuisine. Many students also dressed in traditional Pakistani outfits, adding to the cultural atmosphere.
Diplomatic Engagement and Cultural Exchange
Sardar Muhammad visited the booth and interacted with Chinese students learning Urdu. He encouraged them to strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China.
His visit highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in enhancing bilateral relations.
Growing Pakistan–China Cultural Links
GDUFS plays a key role in promoting cultural and educational cooperation. Notably, it offers South China’s only undergraduate Urdu program under a dual-language model.
In addition, student exchanges—such as the 2023 visit by a Pakistani youth delegation—continue to strengthen mutual understanding. These initiatives help build long-term connections between the two nations.
A Celebration of Global Diversity
The festival also featured activities from other cultures, including Turkish coffee fortune-telling, East African drum performances, and Persian traditions. Meanwhile, a Chinese spring-themed booth added a local touch.
Overall, the event created a lively environment where cultures connected naturally. It also reinforced the importance of cultural exchange in building global harmony.
