United Nations member states have pledged to narrow digital divides and strengthen safeguards around artificial intelligence during a high-level General Assembly meeting in New York.
Pakistan called for concrete implementation of global digital commitments, stressing that promises must translate into real benefits for developing countries and marginalized communities.
The meeting concluded the WSIS+20 review, evaluating global progress on internet access, digital governance, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
Delegates agreed that while digital tools have expanded opportunities, weak regulation and unequal access continue to create new social and economic gaps.
Pakistan highlighted its digital reforms and national AI initiatives, reaffirming its commitment to a people-centered, inclusive, and secure digital ecosystem.
