Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to take concrete steps to enhance bilateral rice trade, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to strengthening overall economic cooperation.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce and the Turkish Ambassador, where discussions focused on increasing rice exports from Pakistan and addressing challenges faced in international markets.
Officials noted that Pakistan has recorded a strong rice harvest this season, creating exportable surplus, while acknowledging that intense competition from other exporters has increased pricing pressure, making coordinated trade strategies more important.
