Pakistan has reviewed its diplomatic priorities as the conflict between the United States and Iran intensifies, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar leading discussions with senior foreign ministry officials.
The meeting focused on ongoing diplomatic initiatives, upcoming engagements, and steps to advance Pakistan’s foreign policy objectives amid growing tensions in the Middle East.
Foreign Ministry Reviews Diplomatic Priorities
According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting with Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch and senior officials on Saturday.
The discussions covered follow-up measures, current diplomatic priorities, and preparations for future engagements.
Moreover, Dar emphasized the need for close coordination, effective implementation of diplomatic efforts, and continued work to protect Pakistan’s national interests.
US-Iran Conflict Escalates
The review comes as Washington and Tehran continue exchanging attacks in the region.
The United States Central Command said US forces carried out strikes targeting Iranian military facilities, including coastal surveillance systems, air defence sites, maritime capabilities, and missile and drone storage locations.
The latest developments followed several consecutive nights of fighting, increasing concerns over further regional instability.
Pakistan Pushes for Dialogue
Since the conflict began, Pakistan has maintained diplomatic engagement with both the United States and Iran, calling for dialogue and peaceful resolution.
