Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal stressed the need to take full advantage of the sectors and projects where China has already shown readiness to cooperate.
He made these remarks while presiding over a high-level meeting in Islamabad, focused on reviewing the implementation and finalization of a sectoral action plan based on the Chinese Experts’ Report.
The report, shared by the Chinese Embassy, was compiled by Chinese Working Teams following their visit to Pakistan to explore areas for stronger economic collaboration.
It presented key findings and suggestions across various sectors, including connectivity, formulation of a national agricultural plan, Gwadar Port linkages, IT cooperation, and other strategic domains.
Ahsan Iqbal instructed all ministries to draft detailed responses to the recommendations in the Chinese Experts’ Report, so the CPEC Secretariat can consolidate and submit a unified report to the Chinese authorities.
He also emphasized the importance of formally updating the Chinese side about the progress Pakistan has made on implementing the recommendations.
This meeting represents a meaningful step toward enhancing Pakistan-China economic ties, ensuring both countries advance with a shared vision for mutual development.
