On the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism, Pakistan reiterated its strong commitment to combating terrorism, extremist ideologies, and hate-driven narratives. President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized preventive strategies, youth empowerment, and human rights protection as central to national and global security.
President Zardari highlighted Pakistan’s National Policy on Prevention of Violent Extremism 2024 and its alignment with UN frameworks. He stressed that peaceful solutions, not force, are key to lasting stability, urging international action in conflict zones like Kashmir and Palestine while promoting global human rights and tolerance.
PM Shehbaz Sharif underscored the impact of extremist ideologies on societal harmony, stressing Islam’s principles of moderation and peace. He praised Pakistan’s decades-long sacrifices against terrorism and highlighted the crucial role of education, social justice, and economic opportunities in protecting youth from radicalization.
