Pakistan emphasized the need for strengthened multilateralism and inclusive global cooperation at the Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar highlighted that the world faces growing conflicts, economic disruptions, and technological shifts, particularly due to artificial intelligence. He warned that global challenges are intensifying even as collective responses weaken.
Senator Dar called for leadership and dialogue instead of divisions, stressing that strategic confrontations and divisive bloc politics threaten future stability. He highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to resolving regional conflicts peacefully and advancing cooperation through dialogue, connectivity, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
Addressing South Asia, he condemned unilateral acts affecting the Indus Waters Treaty and stressed that sustainable peace requires resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute per UN resolutions. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, urging the Taliban to uphold commitments and prevent terrorism.
On the Middle East, Senator Dar condemned ongoing atrocities in Gaza, supporting the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement and UN resolutions for humanitarian access and reconstruction. He also highlighted Pakistan’s vision of regional connectivity, linking the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor with the EU’s Global Gateway to promote green, digital, and transport corridors across Asia and Europe.
