The Pakistan Navy successfully wrapped up a two-day Port Security and Harbour Defence Exercise at Karachi Harbour, including Port Qasim, aimed at enhancing maritime security and safeguarding critical national assets from potential threats.
Organised under the Pakistan Navy’s Coastal Command, the large-scale exercise involved close coordination between multiple agencies, including the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), Karachi Port Trust (KPT), and various law enforcement organisations. The collaborative drills focused on improving operational tactics, rapid threat detection, deterrence, and neutralisation to protect vital maritime infrastructure.
Participants underwent realistic, high-pressure scenario training to test and refine joint operational readiness, communication efficiency, situational awareness, and command and control mechanisms. The exercise also emphasised inter-agency coordination to ensure an integrated and swift response against any hostile actions targeting Pakistan’s coastal and naval assets.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted that the drill demonstrates Pakistan Navy’s unwavering commitment to securing maritime borders and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of commercial activities through the nation’s ports.
This exercise reinforces the strategic importance of maritime security in Pakistan’s defence framework and showcases the readiness of naval and allied forces to counter emerging threats in the region.
