Pakistan has launched the Cyber Shield Policy to enhance digital security across the country. Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, said the policy provides comprehensive protection for e-governance systems, financial services, and health-related data.
The minister emphasized that cybersecurity has become a national security priority and that the new framework unifies digital protection for both public and private institutions. She acknowledged the role of Pakistani youth in defending digital borders and praised their technological contributions.
Under the Digital Nation Pakistan initiative, the government is promoting private-sector investment and creating opportunities for young professionals. The policy also aligns with the recently introduced National Artificial Intelligence Policy, supporting AI-based companies and innovations.
Shaza Fatima Khawaja noted that these measures have already contributed to growth in Pakistan’s IT exports. She stressed that nationwide digitalization, guided by the Prime Minister, will ensure stronger digital infrastructure, better protection of sensitive data, and expanded economic opportunities in the IT sector.
