-Pakistan and Egypt agreed to strengthen their bilateral relationship as Egyptian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Badr Ahmed Mohamed Abdelatty called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and reviewed opportunities for expanding cooperation.
President Zardari said Pakistan values its long-standing ties with Egypt, rooted in shared faith and mutual respect. He expressed hope for a more structured and forward-looking partnership, adding that this year marks 77 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He encouraged greater Egyptian investment in Pakistan’s growing sectors, including energy, logistics, construction, agriculture, mining and information technology.
Dr. Abdelatty conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and affirmed Egypt’s keen interest in enhancing collaboration across multiple fields. The two sides also discussed regional and international developments, reaffirming their commitment to working together for peace, stability and prosperity.
Earlier, President Zardari held a one-on-one meeting with the Egyptian minister. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, and senior officials were also present during the delegation-level talks.
