Pakistan’s corporate sector donated PKR 25.44 billion to support education, healthcare, and social projects nationwide. Public listed companies led with PKR 18.23 billion, while private and unlisted firms contributed PKR 7.21 billion. The contributions demonstrate strong corporate responsibility and commitment to social development. The Corporate Philanthropy Awards in Islamabad honored the companies with the highest impact.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb attended the ceremony, appreciating corporate efforts in supporting national growth. Leading companies like Oil & Gas Development Company, Mari Energies, and Bank Alfalah were recognized for their donations and high giving ratios relative to profit. Panel discussions analyzed challenges and policy opportunities in Pakistan’s philanthropy ecosystem.
Sector-specific data revealed Glass and Ceramics donated 7.8% of profits. KSE-100 companies contributed PKR 15.24 billion and KSE-30 gave PKR 8.80 billion. Experts note that corporate philanthropy is complementing government initiatives, creating long-term social benefits and setting new standards for responsible business in Pakistan.
