Pakistan has commenced the export of halal meat to Tajikistan, following active diplomatic and trade efforts by Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda Toir. The initiative is expected to expand bilateral trade and strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
Pakistan plans to export 143,000 tons of goods worth approximately $14.5 million, with halal meat playing a central role. Officials highlighted the potential for a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) and stressed the importance of resuming direct flights to facilitate trade, tourism, and business exchanges.
The move also underscores growing cultural and people-to-people ties, strengthened by high-level visits and events such as the first-ever Tajik Cultural Week in Islamabad. Both nations continue to enjoy strong historical, religious, and linguistic bonds, paving the way for enhanced collaboration in trade, agriculture, and education.
