 Pak-China intellectuals share knowledge on the vision of “shared future”

An International seminar on the Vision of “Community with Shared Future in the Contemporary Era” was held on Wednesday 8th December 2021.

The seminar was jointly organized by Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, the Communication University of China, Beijing, China, and the University of Sargodha, Sargodha.

The Seminar aimed to bring together intellectuals from the partner institutions on one platform to share their expertise and knowledge on the “Community with Shared Future for Mankind”.

The session commenced with the opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar, Vice-Chancellor University of Sargodha. He stated that universities are the driving force, hence their Internationalization is very important.

He said, “It is the need of time that universities come out of isolation and cooperate with international universities. China has always promoted shared vision and communication. They have always promoted peace and collective progress”.

Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Director, Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, Communication University of China, Beijing, China shared thoughts on the concept of a Community of Shared Culture and the role of partner institutions with a special focus on the role of Pakistan Research Center).

He stated that the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future is established as a platform to support and build an academic global network through international conferences, seminars, round table discussions, student and faculty exchange programs, and online international internship opportunities.

“This project calls for closer cooperation between Pakistan and China in media communication and cultural fields”, he added.

Ms. Zhao Bo, Associate Professor of the Communication University of China stated that the objective of the shared future program is to help the world in overcoming economic, political, and social challenges.

She said, “international relations must be based on mutual benefits, as this would help China as well as the contemporary world in effectively confronting and resolving global concerns.”

Ms. Wang Juan, Doctor of Communication and Associate Professor of the Communication University of China, said that China champions the shares value of humankind such as peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom.

She said, “There is a need to stimulate the vitality of the digital economy and enhance the efficiency of digital government. For this, China is on the way towards a new era of digital civilization to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.”

Dr. Imran Abbas, Assistant Professor, Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Sargodha, Dr. Fazal ur Rehman, Director, Pakistan Institute of China Studies, University of Sargodha, Ms. Laraib Fatima Hassan, Communication & Coordination Executive, Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad and Muhammad Zain ul Abidin, Department of Sociology & Criminology, University of Sargodha also spoke at the occasion.

The Seminar was moderated by Ms. Madiha Ghaffar, Media & Communication Manager CGSS and was attended by Dean, Head of Departments, faculty members and students from the universities.
