A contingent of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), featuring its cutting-edge JF-17 Thunder Block-III fighter jets and a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, has arrived at the Royal Air Force Base Fairford in the United Kingdom to participate in the prestigious Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025.
PAF’s involvement in RIAT, recognized as one of the world’s largest military airshows, highlights its dedication to demonstrating professional excellence, operational readiness, and the indigenous capabilities of Pakistan’s aviation industry.
Underscoring the operational scope of this international deployment, the JF-17 Block-III jets successfully carried out Air-to-Air Refueling operations en route to the UK, assisted by a PAF IL-78 aerial refueling tanker. This complex maneuver showcased the PAF’s long-range strike potential and the high level of skill and coordination between its air and ground teams.
Equipped with an AESA radar and Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missiles, the JF-17 Block-III is a 4.5-generation multi-role combat aircraft capable of executing a broad range of missions. Its versatility and advanced systems significantly enhance airpower, helping address modern security challenges and bolstering national defense.
Amid recent tensions between Pakistan and India, the arrival of the JF-17 Block-III in the UK has generated excitement among aviation enthusiasts and defense analysts. Its proven combat performance and advanced features have drawn considerable international interest, making its RIAT debut a focal point of the airshow.
PAF’s participation, including its sleekly painted C-130 Hercules, aims to promote international cooperation, exchange aviation expertise, and reinforce the image of the Pakistan Air Force as a technologically advanced and globally engaged force committed to peace and security.
