Islamabad Police officers will be sent to Beijing to receive training in advanced technologies and modern policing practices through specialized courses organized by the Beijing Police Department.
As part of the training, officers will also gain expertise in using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance investigative capabilities and improve criminal tracking methods.
This initiative was finalized during a meeting between Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and a high-level delegation from the Beijing Police Department, led by Deputy Director General Gao Jianxin. The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation between the two forces, with an emphasis on training, technology, and information sharing.
Minister Naqvi stressed that the advanced training in Beijing would significantly improve the efficiency of Islamabad Police. He praised the Beijing Police as a model of technological advancement and encouraged full utilization of their expertise.
He highlighted the critical need for modern technology in maintaining public safety and preventing crime, adding that collaboration with the Beijing Police would be highly beneficial. He also welcomed the offer of anti-riot training for Islamabad Police.
The Interior Minister underscored the importance of timely information exchange to counter threats like terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and human smuggling. He expressed appreciation to the Chinese delegation for their commitment to supporting Islamabad Police.
The Chinese delegation included senior officials from the Ministry of Public Security and Beijing Police Department, while the Pakistani side included Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry and top officials from the Interior Ministry, FIA, National Police Academy, and Islamabad administration
