The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan and Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College in China are moving toward formal academic collaboration. The initiative follows NUST’s participation in an international medical technology program hosted by the Chinese institution under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Dr. Amer Sohail Kashif, associate professor at NUST’s Department of Biomedical Engineering & Sciences, represented the university in the 15-day advanced medical training program. His participation laid the groundwork for enhanced cooperation in medical education and technology between the two institutions.
The proposed collaboration includes a memorandum of understanding to facilitate faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and academic partnerships. Officials say the agreement aims to strengthen Pakistan-China cooperation in healthcare innovation and professional training.
