Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a second meeting with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni to discuss the evolving security situation in the Middle East.
Meeting Held on SCO Sidelines
The meeting took place during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization gathering of interior and public security ministers in Bishkek. During the talks, both sides reviewed regional developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
Diplomatic Efforts Continue
Meanwhile, Pakistan has remained actively engaged in diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran. Earlier, Islamabad expressed concern over renewed hostilities and warned that escalating conflict could undermine prospects for dialogue.
Focus on Peace and Stability
In addition, Pakistani officials have maintained communication with leaders from both sides since the crisis began. As a result, Pakistan has continued to support initiatives aimed at promoting peace, regional stability, and diplomatic engagement.
High-Level Contacts Intensify
Furthermore, Pakistan’s engagement with Iran has increased in recent months. Earlier this year, Field Marshal Asim Munir and Mohsin Naqvi visited Iran for high-level discussions focused on regional security and conflict de-escalation.
Regional Tensions Remain a Concern
However, challenges remain as diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran continue to face obstacles. Consequently, regional countries are closely monitoring developments and encouraging efforts to prevent further escalation across the Middle East.
