Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has stressed the need for national unity and a decisive state response to threats against Balochistan.

He made the remarks while interacting with political leaders and community figures from Balochistan in Rawalpindi.

Peace Key to Balochistan’s Development

Field Marshal Munir said the future of Balochistan and Pakistan remains closely connected. He described the people of Balochistan as talented, resilient, patriotic, and proud.

Moreover, he said lasting peace and stability are essential for unlocking the province’s economic potential. He also linked stability with greater investment and development opportunities.

Focus on Youth and Economic Growth

Munir highlighted the potential of Balochistan’s young population. He said the province has no shortage of talented youth or economic opportunities.

Furthermore, he stressed that empowering young people remains essential for sustainable development. Greater opportunities can help them contribute to Pakistan’s national progress.

Warning Against Destabilization Efforts

The CDF described what he called Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan as foreign-sponsored proxies used by hostile elements to destabilize Balochistan.

He urged national and provincial stakeholders to counter hostile propaganda and challenge what he described as false narratives. He also called for greater efforts to highlight the province’s development, potential, and aspirations.

Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Peace

Munir appreciated the role of Balochistan’s community leaders in promoting peace and social cohesion. He emphasized that the province’s future ultimately rests with its people.

Meanwhile, participants reaffirmed their commitment to peace, development, and prosperity. They also pledged to support efforts aimed at maintaining stability and advancing people-centered development.

A Focus on Stability and Prosperity

The interaction highlighted the importance of security, social cohesion, and economic development in Balochistan.

As a result, national and provincial stakeholders emphasized a shared goal of building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous province.
