Microsoft Launches DeepSeek’s R1 on Azure AI Foundry after through assessments and extensive safety measures.
Microsoft announced that DeepSeek’s reasoning model R1 is now available on Azure AI Foundry, which consolidates various AI services for businesses within a single platform.
In a blog post, Microsoft shared that R1’s version on Azure AI Foundry has gone through extensive safety and security measures, including thorough red teaming, model behavior assessments, and detailed security reviews to minimize potential risks.
Microsoft also mentioned that, in the near future, customers will be able to use “distilled” versions of R1 on Copilot+ PCs for local operations.
Microsoft expressed excitement about the expansion of the model catalog in Azure AI Foundry and anticipates developers and businesses using R1 to address real-world issues and create transformative experiences.
