Officials from the Public Health Engineering Gwadar Division, accompanied by Gwadar Port Authority representatives, conducted a detailed inspection of the desalination plant in Pasni. Installed in 2013, the plant has a daily production capacity of 200,000 gallons of water but has not yet been operationalized.
The system has been confirmed functional and safe. Authorities plan to activate it initially on a trial basis. After necessary technical adjustments, the plant is expected to be relocated to Gwadar to provide safe drinking water to the region.
The project is being implemented under the guidance of the Balochistan government and Gwadar Port Authority, with close supervision from CM Balochistan’s Coordinator for Water & Power, Noor-ul-Haq Baloch. This initiative is expected to address critical water shortages in Gwadar and surrounding areas.
