Authorities in Gwadar continue to supply water from multiple sources to tackle the ongoing drought crisis. The Chief Minister of Balochistan and the local administration are coordinating efforts to provide timely relief to residents.
The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) delivered 1.47 million gallons of water from Shadi Kaur Dam via pipeline to the Airport Pumping Station. Additionally, 1.271 million gallons came from Mirani Dam through 123 tankers. The Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) desalination plant supplied 780,000 gallons to Old Town residents, although a technical malfunction partially disrupted operations.
Meanwhile, the Public Health Engineering (PHE) teams distributed 1.4 million gallons to Union Council Chip Kalmati and surrounding areas through 29 bowser trips. Another 350,000 gallons flowed through the Sant Sar–Paleri pipeline, benefiting Paleri, Abdul Rahim Bazaar, Peshkan, and Panwan. Kalato and Jiwani received 130,000 gallons via 14 bowser trips.
The district administration monitors the water situation daily to ensure maximum relief. Under the directives of the Balochistan Government, GDA, PHE, and other departments continue emergency water supply operations to meet residents’ needs and reduce the effects of drought.
