Chinese Smartphone Maker Xiaomi EV’s Got Over 90,000 Orders in First 24 Hours

The SU7’s competitive pricing strategy is a major factor behind its early success. The Standard model starts at an attractive price of 215,900 yuan (approximately $29,870), making it an accessible option for a wider range of consumers.

However, affordability isn’t the only factor driving interest. The SU7 boasts a stylish design that has garnered comparisons to luxury sports cars like Porsche’s Taycan and Panamera, setting it apart from other EVs in its price range.

Xiaomi Unveils First Electric Car “SU7”

Xiaomi, a famous Chinese smartphone maker, has introduced its first electric vehicle (EV) and is now accepting orders for it. During the launch event, Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, announced that the standard SU7 model would cost 215,900 yuan ($29,872; £23,663), while the Max version would be priced at 299,900 yuan.

Despite being a new player in the EV market, Xiaomi’s SU7 has captured the attention of Chinese consumers. The overwhelming demand has led Xiaomi to announce wait times of four to seven months for delivery. Standard model deliveries are estimated to take 18-21 weeks, while those who ordered the Pro model or the most expensive variant might have to wait even longer, up to 30 weeks.
