A Chinese business delegation has explored opportunities to expand cooperation with Pakistani companies in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, reflecting growing commercial engagement between the two countries.
The delegation from Yuzhonghe (Hubei) Supply Chain Co., Ltd. met representatives of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday to discuss potential partnerships in pharmaceuticals, medical technology, healthcare products, and supply chain services.
Chinese Company Explores New Opportunities
The delegation was led by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Vince Ma, who outlined Yuzhonghe’s interest in expanding its presence in Pakistan.
He said the company is exploring opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare products, integrated supply chain services, technology transfer, and possible joint ventures with Pakistani firms.
However, the company did not announce any investment amount, signed agreement, or implementation timeline during the visit.
ICCI Offers Support to Chinese Investors
ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to facilitating business partnerships between Pakistani and Chinese companies.
He said the chamber would help connect the visiting delegation with local businesses and provide support to Chinese enterprises interested in establishing partnerships in Pakistan.
Moreover, he noted that Islamabad and nearby regions offer promising opportunities for cooperation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare services, and medical technology.
Focus on Technology and Supply Chains
ICCI Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub said Chinese expertise in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and supply chain management could complement Pakistan’s industrial capabilities.
Furthermore, he emphasized that stronger collaboration could encourage technology transfer, improve healthcare manufacturing, and create new business opportunities for companies in both countries.
Strengthening Pakistan-China Business Links
The discussions reflect continued efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Pakistan and China through private-sector partnerships.
As both countries promote greater business-to-business engagement, cooperation in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing is expected to become an increasingly important area of bilateral trade.
