A high-level delegation from Loudi City in China’s Hunan Province has concluded a three-day trade and investment mission to Pakistan, advancing industrial cooperation, sister-city relations, and business partnerships under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The delegation, led by Vice Mayor Yang Wei, visited Pakistan from July 20 to 22 to strengthen economic ties, promote investment opportunities, and expand collaboration with Pakistani industries.

Loudi and Gujrat Sign Sister-City Agreement

The delegation began its visit in Gujrat, widely known as Pakistan’s “City of Fans,” where it met Punjab Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment Chaudhry Shafay Hussain and Additional Deputy Commissioner Noor ul Ain.

Following discussions on economic development and industrial cooperation, the delegation toured Royal Fan and Trend Line Furniture to gain insights into Gujrat’s manufacturing sector, supply chains, and export potential.

On July 21, Loudi and Gujrat signed a Sister-City Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a significant step toward expanding cooperation between the two cities.

Business Partnership Expands Trade Cooperation

On the same day, the Loudi Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Pakistani Hunan Chamber of Commerce signed a Friendship and Cooperation Agreement.

The agreement establishes a long-term platform to facilitate business exchanges, investment, and commercial cooperation between enterprises in both countries.

Moreover, the signing ceremonies were witnessed by Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan, who said the agreements demonstrate the growing role of subnational cooperation under CPEC 2.0 as Pakistan and China celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.

He added that the partnerships will strengthen industrial cooperation, economic integration, and people-to-people exchanges.

Focus on Industrial Development

The delegation also visited QABP Industrial Park, where members assessed footwear and steel manufacturing facilities.

During the visit, they reviewed industrial infrastructure, investment incentives, and opportunities to align Pakistan’s manufacturing sector with Loudi’s expertise in advanced steel and new materials.

Furthermore, the discussions explored future collaboration in production capacity, industrial investment, and technology cooperation.

Invitation to Trade Conference

Vice Mayor Yang invited Punjab Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain to attend the 2026 Hunan International Sister-City Economic and Trade Conference, which will be held in Changsha this September.

The conference is expected to provide another platform for expanding economic cooperation between Pakistan and China’s Hunan Province.

Building Long-Term Partnerships

Vice Mayor Yang said the visit aimed to build sustainable platforms for long-term cooperation rather than focusing only on individual projects.

He emphasized that stronger industrial collaboration and business engagement will create new opportunities for investment, trade, and economic development between Pakistan and China.
