Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to strengthening the Pakistan-China partnership during a reception in Islamabad marking the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
Addressing diplomats, political leaders, government officials, and members of the Chinese community, the ambassador highlighted the CPC’s role in China’s economic and social transformation over the past 105 years.
Xi Jinping Highlights National Development Goals
Ambassador Jiang referred to a recent gathering in Beijing, where Chinese President and CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping urged party members to continue building a modern socialist country and advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
He said the CPC remains committed to long-term national development and modernization.
China Highlights Economic Achievements
The ambassador noted that China’s economy has expanded significantly under CPC leadership. He said the country’s GDP increased from 67.9 billion yuan in 1952 to 140.2 trillion yuan in 2025.
Moreover, he highlighted that nearly 100 million rural residents were lifted out of poverty through China’s nationwide poverty alleviation campaign.
CPEC Remains a Flagship Project
Ambassador Jiang described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as a flagship project under the Belt and Road Initiative.
According to him, CPEC has attracted more than $25.9 billion in direct investment to Pakistan. In addition, the project has created over 260,000 jobs, added more than 8,000 megawatts of electricity generation capacity, and strengthened transport and energy infrastructure.
Pakistan’s Economic Progress Recognized
The ambassador congratulated Pakistan on its recent economic performance. He noted that the country’s GDP reached a record $452 billion in fiscal year 2026, while the economy recorded 3.7 percent growth.
Furthermore, he praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote understanding between Iran and the United States, describing them as a positive contribution to regional peace.
Commitment to Future Cooperation
Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed China’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistan.
He said both countries will continue advancing CPEC 2.0, strengthening economic collaboration, and deepening their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
